It's not really anything to do with the data, it's just as much E-Peen enhancement I'd imagine as it is messing around with new gear.

It's a hobby so there is no solution to solve, the means justify the end.

Pushing the limits wherever possible is the point, just like overclocking a CPU until it fries.
