[AusNOG] [off-topic] Samsung Galaxy S

I've had and heard of horrible experiences with galaxy-s as well, the random
reboots and GPS issues. I'd hit up Samsung and see what they can do, as you
might have a bad hardware build or a loose antenna connection, does all
phones have bad reception at your place?

If you get a replacement, consider a motorola defy (comes in an IP76 casing,
'ruggedised' whilst motorola probably don't like to use that term, its
basically water resistant (IP76 spec: can be dropped in water depth to 1m
for up to 30minutes, dust/sand proof, handles basic drops etc), and comes
with scratch resistant screen (same as iphone4 i believe). Check youtube
videos.

Its a next-g phone running on Telstra, so reception is fantastic. Very
little problems so far. downside is runs android 2.1-update1 with promise of
froyo in end of Q1. Camera isn't fantastic and runs 800mhz processor rather
then top phones been released with 1ghz processors. (it has a motoblur skin,
so will take forever to get updates like other phones).
