Why does it have to be about speed?? The NBN is more than a Ferrari connection. What about a resilient connection less likely to degrade? 

To my knowledge fibre offers no chance of cross-talk, no chance of corrosion, ect,ect

Day in day out this is the kind of stuff Telstra has to fix to get our Adsl working better or at all.

What if that could be eliminated?

Granted fibre may have it's own issues here n there but it's far superior in terms of reliance. And that's what I care for.
