For a matter of public record I must now respond.

The following statement matches the views of my Employer:
We are not experiencing a 3 day long network outage,
We recovered within 2 hours and a bit hours after we gave quagga the boot from our network ahead of schedule.

The following statement is not:
I've been awake for 3 days due to other external network and operational issues, including UEcomm <-> Pipe network issues this morning, when it should have been my Allocated sleep time, so please take this message in the sleep-induced haze and humour in which it was intended.

Gavin: Feel free to respond OFF-LIST next time if I am wasting your time, and I apologise to both you and this list for this additional excessive email.

Cheers,
Sean.

Except we're already "on" the bandwagon. 4 byte ASNs are being allocated
right now and are in use on the internet. Geoff has been announcing a
test prefix for quite some time. This isn't new & also wasn't an
intentional test.

Lets not arm the journalists with ammo on topics that are totally
unfounded. I know it's a joke but someone will print it as fact.

Last time he was on the recieving end, he hasn't done this before.

The last part of this post has no operational relevenance. We're all
busy people and don't subscribe to this list to read random rablings.

And finally.. why would you announce to the whole industry that you are
suffering from a 3 day long network outage?
