[AusNOG] Telstra industrial action - was anyone here affected forbusiness grade services?

Hi Andrew,
 
Yes, we are in a similar situation - many regional locations have only
Telstra as a real option, other telcos resell or back-haul which is
worse than dealing direct.
 
When other providers have services in our areas, we re-evaluate, but
it's hard to achieve a similar grade service (not counting the outages
and poor response times) from other providers who have limited
infrastructure in those areas.
 
Apparently broadband in the bush was going to fix everything ;)
 
 
ha... now that should stir up the Noggers' Nest.

We have a 1 hour response time SLA from them on our business
connections.. which in reality means they'll get back to you the same
day.
The amount we pay is pretty Rucking Fidiculous too but we don't have any
other choice here :-( (Fibre from sunshine coast to Brisbane is 8k a
month rental alone)

	Despite IA or not, probably an idea to think about
	alternatives/redundant connectivity if you don't already have it
so
