These are all figures from NextG in the Brisbane CBD using a highly
unscientific testing mind you but still ...

iPhone 3G Tethered w/ Bluetooth:

  2.96 mbps down, 0.32 mbps up

NextG Turbo 7 USB dongle (with 7.2mbps HSDPA+HSUPA):

  3.45 mbps down, 1.21 mbps up

The whole tethering process on the iPhone 3G is very slick compared to the
Sierra Wireless stuff the Turbo cards use and the speed differential so
small that I think I'll just use my phone from now on. It would be
interesting if someone could redo the above from one location and include a
3GS in the mix.
